Petticoat Playground: Having a good time in Brno with Cerberus

Today I would like to show you a very special post. The images were taken in Brno, the city where I live. I wear a stars-pattern t-shirt that I really love and also the Aldo shoes and mini-bag I talked to you about a few days ago. Stars-pattern is a trend introduced by Dolce & Gabbana in their FW 2011-2012 collection and there are a lot of low cost brands that followed their proposition.

Apart from this, the scenery in which the photos were taken is located in Zelnŷ trh (the Cabbage Market), where is hold a great market (mainly groceries) that goes back to 1243, when Brno was granted the privileges of a city. In the centre of the square, there is a Baroque Parnas Fountain with a grotto in which a stone Hercules holds the three-headed dog Cerberus on a chain. There are also allegorical sculptures of three ancient empires of Babylonia, Greece and Persia, and the crowned Europe dominates over all of them. The fountain dates back to 1695 and is the work of Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach, the great architect who gave Vienna and Graz their exclusive excellence. A bit far away in the distance, we can also see the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, a magnificent Baroque neo-Gothic building that gives the city a great part of its identity. The twin steeples are clearly seen from the Zelnŷ trh. The cathedral has been through several modifications between the 14th and the 20th century.

Hoy me gustaría presentaros un post muy especial. Las imágenes fueron tomadas en Brno, la cuidad en que vivo. Llevo puesta una camiseta con estampado de estrellas y también los zapatos y el bolso Aldo de los que os hablé hace unos días. El estampado de estrellas fue presentado por Dolce & Gabbana en su colección OI 2011-2012 y hay muchas marcas low cost que han seguido su propuesta.

Por otro lado, el lugar en el que se hicieron las fotos es Zelnŷ trh, donde se celebra un gran mercado (mayormente de comestibles) que se remonta al año 1243. En el centro de la plaza, está la monumental Fuente Parnas, la cual alberga una cueva en la que Hércules sostiene al mitológico Cerbero con una cadena. También hay figuras alegóricas de los tres antiguos imperios de Babilonia, Grecia y Persia que son dominados por la coronada Europa que aparece en lo alto de la escultura. La fuente data de 1695 y es obra de Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach, el gran arquitecto que dio a Viena y Graz su exclusiva excelencia. Un poco más atrás, se ve también parte de la catedral de San Pedro y San Pablo, una magnífica construcción barroca – neogótica que le da a la ciudad gran parte de su identidad. Las dos torres de la catedral se pueden ver claramente desde Zelnŷ trh. La catedral ha tenido varias modificaciones entre los siglos XIV y XX.

No centro da praza, está a monumental Fonte Parnas, a cal alberga unha cova na que Hércules sostén ó mitolóxico Cerbero cunha cadea. Tamén hai figuras alegóricas dos tres antigos imperios de Babilonia, Grecia e Persia, que son dominados pola coroada Europa que se alza no cume da escultura. A fonte data do ano 1695 e é obra de Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach, o gran arquitecto que deu a Viena e Graz a súa exclusiva excelencia. Un pouco máis atrás, tamén se ve parte da catedral de San Pedro e San Paulo, unha magnífica construción barroca – neogótica que lle outorga á cidade gran parte da súa identidade. As dúas torres da catedral pódense ver claramente dende Zelnŷ trh. A catedral tivo varias modificacións entre os séculos XIV e XX.
